Bouygues Telecom have today announced that they will be the first carrier to launch the upcoming Samsung I7500 Android phone in Europe later this year.Originally scheduled for a June release, it appears the Samsung handset has been pushed back a few weeks with
Bouygues Telecom aiming for an early July launch. The French carrier have also stated that the device will be marketed as the Samsung Galaxy rather than the i7500.
The Samsung I7500 Android phone is the first handset to be release by Samsung that is powered purely by the Google Android operating system.
The Samsung I7500 is by far one of the most impressive Android smartphones announced to date. Featuring an impressive 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, the Samsung I7500 is a purely touchscreen device similar to the HTC Magic in form.
Along with the large AMOLED touchscreen display, the Samsung I7500 also includes other impressive multimedia features such as a 5 mega-pixel camera that supports a number of various codex formats, a high capacity 1500mAh battery, and a huge memory capacity of some 40GB's (Internal memory storage of 8GB, with up to 32GB external microSD card support).
Despite these features the Samsung I7500 remains a slim and compact design measuring a mere 11.9mm in thickness.
