It is a summer of new devices, and Dell is adding to the pile with the Vostro 1220, a 12.1-inch, business-focused addition to its Vostro laptop line. The 12.1-inch Vostro 1220 is boosted by Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor up to T9900 3.06GHz, up to 8GB RAM, integrated Intel GM X4500MHD graphics. It has up to 500GB hard drive capacity and either a 8X DVD burner or Blu-ray DVD burner combo.Dell’s Vostro 1220 gets a 12.1-inch 1280×800 LCD display and a 1.3 Megapixel webcam. WiF and Bluetooth are supported. You can also find a 3-in-1 card reader and an ExpressCard/34 slot. It comes with 4-cell or 6-cell battery pack. It weighs just 1.52kg with a 4-cell battery.
The Vostro 1220 offers a choice of Microsoft Genuine Windows Vista, Ubuntu Linux or FreeDOS operating systems, memory is up to 8GB of dual-channel 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM and there’s an Intel GM45 Express chipset. An 8X DVD+RW drive and a Blu-ray BD Combo are available, as are Bluetooth 2.1 and WiMax connectivity. And, among other features, a 34mm ExpressCard slot, three USB 2.0 ports, a 3-in-1 card reader and headphone and microphone jacks are included.
